Hi,
after checking the correct behavior of SWPM access control on a fresh WP install (and found everything fine) I now be back to the installation with problems.
As a test case I created a new category test and a post assigned to that category. I set up both ‘category protection’ and ‘post protection’ to hide for all and only allow access for one membership level. Regardless of this, the post can be seen without logging in when I access the category by .../category/test.
Based on my experiments with a fresh WP installation, I suspect a interference with another plugin.
- Where can I start looking for the reason of the misbehavior?
- More precise: Where (in which module/file) is the checking of access control settings performed (I’m programmer and can modify the code for debug output in my development environment)?
- Any thoughts?
Activating SWPM debugging and checking the logs was not helpful, nor did I find a hint in the PHP log.

WP 5.6 (latest)
SWPM 4.0.3 (latest)

@mbrsolution Sorry to inform you: this guide doesn’t help me at all. I perform all the steps as described (and as mentioned above) with no success. So I think, there must be any interdependency with something else in my installation – whatever…
Remember: I checked this in a fresh install and it works like expected.
That’s why I ask for the snippet of code, where the protection is proceeded to dive into that and try to find what’s going wrong.

I have done some testing in my dev site and it is working for me. I suspect that you might have a conflict with your theme or a plugin. Please carry out the following troubleshooting steps.

@mbrsolution I have to beg your pardon: by deactivating plugins step-by-step I found that one, that produces the malfunction of SWPM’s content protection. To speed up the site, some plugins are disabled where they not used. And there was the bug!
Conclusion: SWPM works fine – a great plugin!
