Client is getting “Access a Banned URL” screen to a URL that is not in the banned list and no URL or wildcard is even close.

I can access the same URL with no issue.

IP that was banned is local, not international. They do have the international blocking feature on.

How is this solved since obviously the URL is not banned for everyone?

    Thanks.

Hello @sdagency and thanks for reaching out to us!

Are you seeing these blocks in your Tools > Live Traffic? If so, could you post it here or screenshot it so I could see why it’s blocking him. Is it your site as a whole that is not working for him or just one page in general?

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

    Yes, Tools > Live Traffic.

Not just blocking the one legitimate page not on the banned list.

Thanks for sending that screenshot @sdagency

Do you have the URL banned in your Firewall settings? It would be listed in All Options > Firewall Options > Advanced Firewall Options > Immediately block IPs that access these URLs feature.

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/options/#advanced-options

    Thanks!

No, sorry, that is why I copy/pasted the banned URLs above.

The page in question is /careers/ which isn’t on the list.

I am able to view the page without any block. Is it just one user that is having this issue? Try to clear any plugin cache you might have. Also have the user clear his browser cache or try to access the page from another browser to test.

Let me know what you find!

    Thanks!

    Yes, just one user.

Our client reached out to you via Premium Support and is trying some suggestions.

We removed some of the banned URLS as they might interfere with shortlinks in the page. Why it did it for one user may remain a mystery.

We’ll give it a few days and report back if problems persist.

It makes me think that it must be something on the user end that is causing it, if its only that user who is having the issues.

Continue troubleshooting with our premium support if the issue persists as they can help you more efficiently.

    Thanks!

Hello…..I am having similar issue…..users are banned for accessing a legitimate URL not on the banned list….

This issue occurs to user on some IPs…..of most importance is the local IP here in Nigeria….Globacom – 129.205.113.196….

How can this error be removed…so that the URL will become legitimate

Also images are not displayed properly for some of my application LIKE WORDFENCE….I recently set up HTTP HEADERS….and I hope the settings is not interfering with image display on applications

error image link – See Error Screenshot Here!

    Thanks
