• I’m testing out Friends for a small WP Multisite install I’m setting up, and I’m really impressed by what I have seen so far! There is some unusual behavior when trying to make my two sample users befriend each other, though.

I sent a request from user 1 (Alice) to user 2 (Bob), and when I logged in as Bob in a separate window, I could see the friend request with the red alert badge as expected. I clicked Accept Friend Request for Alice, but while the page reloaded, the badge did not go away, and “Accept Friend Request” is still visible as an option on the Friends & Requests tab. I tried clicking several times, with no apparent effect. I checked the Automatic Status messages list, and saw each confirmed request repeated there.

When I go to Alice’s Latest Posts page, I do see Bob’s post listed, and per Alice’s view, everything looks good–Bob is listed in “Latest Friends” and the request has clearly been accepted. I can even see Alice’s latest posts when I am logged in as Bob, so clearly the request has been bidirectionally accepted. But it’s still listed as a pending request and the alert badge persists.

Is there something in the code that doesn’t handle paths for users (ie mymultisite.com/bob) correctly when recording an accepted request? Or is this a peculiarity of trying to friend people in a multisite install?
