Absolute URL For media Uploads

  • When uploading an image through the Media Library in the Dashboard, is there a way to capture the absolute URL of each image and display it, as in the attached screenshot? I use these images as thumbnails in conjunction with a Custom Field, and need the absolute path to do so.

    Conversely how would I go about adding an — Insert As Custom Field, type “thumbnail” — option in the “Attach To” screen of the Media Library? I’m fluent in PHP/MySQL but haven’t poked around the Dashboard code yet.

    Does anyone have any input on this? When you upload an image thru the Media Library, how do you get it’s absolute path? Is there a template tag for this?
