    Hi there,

Back in August, we experienced a huge and abrupt drop in the traffic according to the stats as you can see here.

Here five months later, it still looks the same. I have made a four months period before and after for you to compare. IMO, the periods are pretty stable but at two different levels.

We can only think about one huge thing we changed in August: We installed TranslatePress, which made the site multilingual (you can see the language switcher on the website). TranslatePress does not create new posts for translated pages (like e.g. WPML), but is more a “layer” above WordPress.

Firstly, we thought that the multilingual version has costed us some positions in Google, which has led to a traffic drop. However, other measurements like form submissions, orders and contact leads has not dropped. Also, I find it hard to believe that the number of referrals from non-Google-pages (particularly, I am looking at social media and “udfordringen.dk”) should have dropped that much.

Therefore, I now think that the issue is rather how the traffic is tracked. Do you have any suggestions on how to debug further? And are you aware of any compatibility issues related to TranslatePress?

    Best Regards,
    Peter B. Stidsen

    Hi @pstidsen,

It looks like there is an issue with Complianz. You have it setup to not show a cookiebanner. It seems like the Burst events are not fired after Complianz gives consent (which is immediately).

I would recommend disabling the integration with Complianz for Burst Statistics and/or open a support request at Complianz. As their integration does not work properly.

You can disable the integration which should solve the issue:
    1. Go to Complianz > Integrations
    2. Go to Plugins and deselect Burst Statistics

If you have changed this I can take a look and see if that solves the issue. My visits where not tracked previously due to this issue and I can check if they are after this change.

I hope this helps ans solves your issue!

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    Hi Hessel,

Thanks for your fast reply. Interesting found! It might happen, that Complianz was installed in the same time period. However, I have not had that as a suspect because Burst should not require a consent. We wish to avoid showing cookie consent banner on load because only external embeds require consent, and for them to work, the user has to give consent before view.

I have disabled the integration. Can you confirm, that your visits are tracked, then?
If so, I wonder who the tracked people of the last months are at all. Maybe those who consented earlier?

    Best Regards,
    Peter

    Hi @pstidsen,

I’ve been too quick with closing this issue. Sorry! I’ll keep helping you until it is solved.

It still does not seem to work properly.

    1. Do you use any caching plugin?
    2. Could you also update to the latest version of Burst?
    3. If the above doesn’t help, could you set asking for consent for statistics to “No” on this page: https://forfulgtekristne.dk/wp-admin/admin.php?page=complianz#wizard/statistics-configuration

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

    Thanks!

    1. Yes, we are just on W3 Total Cache.
    2. Yes, done.
    3. Yes, done.

    Hi @pstidsen,

It seems to me like it is fixed now! I hope the data recovers to before the issues.

If the data still looks strange or if you have any other issues or feedback please let me know!

Feel free to leave a review as this really helps with our growth! ??

    Kind regards,
    Hessel
