• About 30 MB of wmv file could be converted without problems, but files of about 500 MB could not be converted. Since it tried on several kinds of personal computers, the specification seems not to be related.

What exactly happens when you try to encode the file? What error message do you get when the file can’t be converted? Does conversion start but not finish? Is it more than one file or is it just one specific WMV file?

Especially no error is issued, but converted files are not displayed in the media area even after completion.

In general that’s how it’s supposed to look. Showing all the various resolutions and alternate formats of each video in the Media Library just clutters it up with unnecessary information. You can see all the video formats if you switch the Media Library view to display only videos.

What happened that was different when you encoded the 30MB file? Does the larger video not embed properly after it’s encoded?

Regarding the wmv file, the playback button is also displayed on the management screen, but the playback button etc. does not appear at all on the screen of the web side.

After converting the file of 500 MB, please check the attached image file because the red frame is missing.

That is how it’s supposed to work. Child formats of original videos are hidden for a reason. Adding the ability to make thumbnails and encode sub-formats of sub-formats would be needlessly complicated.

Are you using a custom media folder plugin or a cloud storage service?

It would help me troubleshoot if I could actually visit your web site because screenshots are not very useful. The problem as well as I can understand it is that when the video is embedded on the page, the plugin is not finding either of the newly encoded mp4 files. Can you check the directory on your server and verify that the files are actually there?
