About WooCommerce subscription and user roles

    I plan to create multiple plans with my WooCommerce subscription. However, I was told that with this plugin alone, user roles cannot be changed depending on the plan. So I was told that I had no choice but to use another plugin. However, I was told that if I use this plugin together, I can change the user role. Are they compatible?     I couldn’t find any evidence against using those two plugins together, but to be 100% sure there’s no conflict, you might want to reach out to the plugin’s developer so they can confirm it and answer any questions you might have about it ??

    Having said that, do you mind sharing more about how you intend to use the user roles on your website? If we know more we might be able to find other solutions that maybe do not involve other plugins.

    sorry! I’m sorry for the late reply!
    I’m thinking of creating a membership site using WooCommerce subscriptions. Additionally, I also use the Crocoblock plugin.

    So with WooCommerce subscription he creates two plans. Member users can view different posts depending on their plan. In that case, use user roles.

    However, I’ve heard that WooCommerce subscriptions don’t allow you to automatically change the buyer’s user role. However, I heard that this can be achieved by using a plugin called User role Editor. I don’t know the detailed method. However, if there are other ways to accomplish what I want to accomplish, I would like to hear your suggestions.

    You’re correct that Woo Subscriptions alone does not support automatic user role changes based on the subscription plan. However, you can indeed achieve this with the User Role Editor plugin. This plugin is quite popular and generally compatible with WooCommerce.

    However, as each website and its setup is unique, it would be a good idea to test these plugins together on a staging site before implementing them on your live site.

    Alternatively, you might consider the WooCommerce Memberships plugin. It integrates seamlessly with Woo Subscriptions and allows you to restrict content based on the membership plan, which seems to align with your needs.
