• I built a WP blog over at bestpricedgrills.com but after some time, I decided to make a site out of the domain name using a site builder software. I though about transferring the blog instead to a “/blog” area of my site so a friend told me to use SMARTFTP to transfer and make a ‘blog’ folder and so I did. After a few hours (I dont know if it really takes that long. Im running on broadband connection), my niece closed smartFTP and now, im afraid it corrupted the whole thing. When I visit the url, nothing shows up. So with using “/wp-admin”.

Im not even sure if I did the process on transferring the blog to “/blog” was correct.

Can someone please advise how can I just completely delete everything about WP? I need to start from the beginning just like when I just purchased the domain. Would really appreciate a reply from anyone right now.

    Please help me out.

  • 1. delete the files.

    2. delete the database, or if you happen to be using the same database for multiple applications, delete the tables within the database that wortdpress is using.

    it doesnt get any simpler.

I used to use SmartFTP and miss the old interface. The most recent version is really a far-cry from the simple interface of old. Now I’m using Filezilla, but it’s taking a while to get used to it ??

Back to your question: as whooami has said, it’s really as straight-forward as deleting your files and the relevant part of your database.

What are you most familiar with using? e.g. Cpanel, File-manager? FTP is actually quite simple to use, especially if you think of it like Windows: you’re just moving files between folders ??
