• I am trying to promote my carpet cleaning website and working on key words. The challenge that I have is that I service many areas in the Nashville TN area. The key word of “Carpet Cleaning” is too general and the key word of “Carpet Cleaning Nashville” is to specific because I service every town around Nashville. So how do I promote my site when I service 20 towns around the Nashville area? Do I need to add the following:
    Carpet Cleaning Nashville TN
    Carpet Cleaning Lebanon TN
    Carpet Cleaning Gallatin TN
etc etc etc for every town.
How many key words can you have? Do I need to write a blog for every town I service?

  • I’d suggest that you write a blog article for each town that you’re targeting and use the keywords in that one article. These should be thought of as landing pages, and these are where you’d target these sepcific areas. As an example, you could have a post with a URL of https://www.musiccitycarpetcleaning.com/carpet-cleaning-lebanon-texas targeting the Lebanon area. The general site should have more general keywords, so stick with something like Nashville carpet cleaning.

Then you would need to get incomming links to these pages. That’s the real key. Your on-page SEO can be the perfect* but unless you get the inbound links you’ll never rank for those terms. That’s the hardest part of SEO. The on-page stuff for your site is easy, but getting the inbound links can be a very tricky exercise.

    * What’s “perfect” changes with every Google update, so there’s no set rules for this that will be correct forever.

Totally agree with the previous guy ?? and I’d like to add the following.

You also want to add your business name, address and phone number (so called NAP) to the footer of your WordPress. It’ll help you with local google search.
