About page mirrors main blog

The sidebar on my About Page mirrors the one on the home page. The only place I can find to remove a widget is for index_sidebar. I’m assuming this means they’re set for the home page, which I don’t want to change. I’ve been round and round and can’t find a way to clear the space so I can put other content in there.
