    Hi
I thought I’d ask this question because I’m not too sure about the answer.

Can someone tell me if suppose I wanted to create several WordPress sites in my hosting accout (which allows for multiple addon domains), do I upload a whole new WordPress into each new domain (site folder in Cpanel) everytime?

I’d like them to share the same database, only differentiated by a unique “example_” prefix.

Maybe have 3 WordPress sites sharing one database but each site uses its own prefix in the common mysql database. Will this lessen server load (sharing database)?

But, I’m not sure whether I need to ftp a whole new WordPress (all the files/folders) for each domain/site I wish to be run on WordPress.

This may be a dumb question for some, if so I apologize in advance, **sorry** ??

P.s: I’m on a shared hosting account (Cpanel), not reseller or vps or dedicated.

Each domain would have its own copy of the WordPress files. You can use the same database for all domains (assuming each domain has access to that database) and as you pointed out, just change the $table_prefix in each domain’s wp-config.php.
