    Hi, i just wanted to know if litespeed cache does in fact created this .bk.jpg files which appeared on my website. If so, is there a way to prevent the creation of those files? Cause all of a sudden my site suddenly jumped to 10 GB of used storage without me knowing anything about it

    You can refer to this pics for the “problem” that i mentioned :

    it’s backup files from your original images on image optimization , which gives you ability to reset the images to previous status

    if this occupies too much data, you can click “Remove Original Image Backups” optin , please note this is irreversible action

    Hi,

    Thank you so much for the answer. To clarify my worries before i turn on that setting.
    The “Remove Original Image Backups” Option is just going to delete all the .BK images right? not the original images that i uploaded myself?

    Also, what is the “plus and minus” when i enable or disable this option? Sorry, kinda worried that it will delete all of my original files, and left me with just the optmized images only

    yes, when you click “remove original image backups” button (this one in summary tab), it will remove these .bk files , the images you uploaded have been replaced with optimized images

    when you enable “remove original backups” option (this one in setting) , it will not keep the backup anymore

    this is breakdown:

    when remove backup is OFF, after you optimized an image, it will become:

    something.jpg -> something.jpg (optm’ed version), something.bk.jpg (backup file) , something.jpg.webp ( webp version if possible)

    this give you option to restore the backup if you are not satisfied with optimization result or something

    when remove backup is ON:

    something.jpg -> something.jpg (optm’ed version) , something.jpg.webp

    and there is no going back on this if you want to revert it
