• Whew at the last 3 hours. Of searching, configuring, adding events to a variety of different calendar plugins —

    I’m optimistic for Simple Calendar to work for us — we just need to display a plain calendar of “retreat” events that span multiple days. Nice to have hovering or clicks for details. Responsive on mobile. That’s it.

    I just installed Simple Calendar in the last hour and added our API and calendar link.
    I see the calendar featured via shortcode on our page, but there are no events populated. Where is the problem? Is it that the events are not synced? The settings are not right? Or do I need to go down the troubleshooting with theme, plugin, etc?

    Thank you, people!

  • I had this issue earlier and it ended up being on the google calendar side of things. You need your calendar to be set as public for it to work.but Go to your calendar > calendar settings > share calendar and check the ‘set this calendar to public’ box THEN (this is the part that I missed initially) make sure the dropdown menu next to it is on “see all event details” instead of “see only free/busy (hide details)”. Then clear the cache on your simple calendar and it should work—or at least that’s how I did it.

    Hope that helps!

    @francinelee,

    Did the suggestion by @sithlordkimi work for you?

    Hi (@nickyoung87).

    I am new at this topic and I know it has 2 months, but I have the same problem and the solution proposed by (@sithlordkimi) didn’t work for me.

    More ideas please?

    Thank you.
