Is there a plugin or whatever that will make the code view the default view. I want this primarily for dealing with embeded video. The Visual editor is very handy, but it messes with the code needed to embed Flash, google video etc. I know I could turn the visual editor off in my user prefs, but then if I wanted to preview a non embeded post, I have to navigate to that page to do it.

As useful as the visual editor is, I guess I have to keep it switched off for most of my blogging needs. But to make it easier to access it I keep a bookmark to /wp-admin/profile.php?updated=true handy.

That looks useful samboll, but unless I don’t understand it completely, it just gives an easier way than the keyboard shortcut (shift-alt-v)to display the advanced features of the visual editor. What I want is a way to have easy access to the visual editor when I want it, but default to the code view when I first go to the write or edit page, so that the visual editor doesn’t alter the code to its liking. It destroys the embed code for Flash, youtube, google video etc. I know I could switch to the code view when writing the post, but editing an existing embeded video post is a problem.

It’s not a major thing but I think it would be a useful feature.
