Go to “Presets” and set one or more rules. Think this way: “If taxonomy X matches value Y then set image Z as featured”.

    Would this helps you?

it really does not make any sense to me i am afraid. I am on the page and it says if post type matches then what is the next it just has the same.

You can do it per category. It makes sense for you. Just select an image, then “Category” and under “value” the name of the category and save the settings.

After that, each new post you assign to that category will get the selected image as featured image.

And you can do that with other categories, with tags, with authors etc.

    Hope I could help you.
