Ability for User to subscribe to individual posts

Hi

I am new to wordpress, and have tried multiple searches for applicable plugin(s) or code based solutions but cannot find anything suitable, so hoping someone may have some ideas.

1.
I require a feature where users are able to subscribe to / track individual posts of a custom post type. I.e. Once a user is logged into the site, a checkbox will appear in each individual post (of this custom post type) which the user can “tick” in order to track that specific post, or “untick” to stop tracking the post.

When the user visits their personal profile page, all posts which they have subscribed to will be shown in a table / list, with the post title, and some other custom fields contained in the post.

Although I have looked at many user profile plugins, I have struggled to find any that offer something like this.

2.
Any changes to a post being tracked by the user should trigger an email (either instantly, or a daily digest type email listing all their tracked posts which have changed on that day), to notify them that the post has changed.

I have found multiple subscribe / email plugins, but they seem to only send emails when a “new” post is added to the site, not necessarily when a post is updated. Also none of the plugins I have found so far seem to offer the ability to subscribe to individual posts rather than all site posts, or all posts of a particular category.
