Abandoned plugin and buggy

  • After 2 years without any update, no programmer in the world can convince me that everything is great and in perfect order! Because now the plugin spits out some forum content at a URL that is supposed to generate a 404 error! what the …
    I have uninstalled the plugin today and I can only hope that it has not left too much garbage data behind, as I have read in other comments.
    If anyone knows of a better alternative, please let me know.

  • People reading these reviews might be interested in this discussion: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/abandoned/. bbPress doesn’t work with FSE themes but there is a plugin (bbp style pack) which has fixes for this.

    Also WordPress support forums use bbpress so I would imagine the developers (who include Matt Mullenweg, btw) are interested to maintain it.. Though it could be that they are working on something totally new, just guessing here!

    I had the “bbp style pack” installed, thanks, but no thanks, I’m done with bbpress.

    And as far as I read correctly in Robin W’s post, bbpress is a sister project of WordPress. So bbpress is a fork of the WordPress forum. But as Robin W’s post says, nobody is currently sponsoring BBPress. So it’s dead right now.
