I’m using the plugin AAM in my WordPress site to manage the users and the content they can access to. However, I’am having a weird problem when trying to denny access to a pdf file or restrict it.

I get the url, as an example,?https://XXX.XXX/wp-content/uploads/2077/99/File-Z.Z.Z-78-3333-Fda.pdf, and restricts its access in URL Access of the mentioned plugin (see the attached image, https://i.sstatic.net/oTGgGwDA.png). However, if I try to access the pdf it lets me, but if I write incorrectly the url, changing upper case letter by lower case letter, take as an example?https://XXX.XXX/wp-content/uploads/2077/99/file-Z.Z.Z-78-3333-Fda.pdf?(change F of File to f of file), it redirects me to the login form, what was supposed to do when the URL is written propperly, and if I login it says that that URL doesn’t exist, which is correct.

But why does it have this strange behaviour? I’m racking my brain to think and I’m unable to find a logical explanation.

    Thanks.

@javierehu thank you for the message.

It looks like you actually may not have redirects properly defined to protect your physical files. Have you followed this installation guide https://aamportal.com/article/protected-media-files-installation?

We’ve tried to replicate your issue without success. AAM properly takes into consideration upper-cased file names, so it properly protects the file, disregarding if you call it File-ZZZ or file-ZZZ

    Keep us posted.
