    Actually have the field reset is not a good idea, otherwise validations become ineffective. May be you’re thinking of HTML5 placeholders? They are not supported actually, you should eventually code the form by hand, copying the one generated and modifying the HTML directly.

    Hi, what I mean is like what the widget version does. In the email box, there is already a text “email” to indicate that the user should type in there an email. I wonder if it was possible also in the shortcode version?

    No, it is not actually possible since the widget no only adds a value but manage it to clear it when you enter the field.

    I wanted exactly the widget behaviour. A predefined text placed in field and as soon as user types a real value, the predefined value is erased.
    Pitty that widget behaviour is not possible with shortcuts.
