• Hi. I am new, and wondering if, while editing (in?) a Post, you can bring up and keep up the Block List? I found in the WP’s GitHub and I thought I saw it as a bug, and then later that it had been fixed? Or added? (I may be lying).

Even better, if there’s a keyboard shortcut to toggle the Block List window, that’s be perfectly okay (too?)

  • Click on the 3 dots at the top right, then on Preferences – you will find this setting there:

    View post on imgur.com

Activate it as shown here. You will then see the block list on the left every time you open the block editor.

    That’s what you meant, right?

I DO already have that, and I totally see there’s the List View and an Outline.

HOWEVER, I want to keep up the list that has all the blocks in it. That you use to select to add the block

There’s the white + on black square at the bottom-right of the current block.

There’s the white + on orange square “toggle block inserter”. – so I think I called MY thing the WRONG thing, I think I meant the block inserter. The toggle button works to make it go away and come back, as expected.

So when I click either box-buttons the block inserter appears, but below shows that whenever anywhere on /around the Post content (in the Post Editor?) is (clicked), even erroneously, the block inserter disappears.

Hence, anyway to make it persistent ?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

I’m afraid what you’re looking for is not possible at the moment. My recommendation would be to contact the Gutenberg team so that they can consider this for further development: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues

@threadi thank you sir/ma’am/et al… I had a feeling, so my expectations are low, and I guess “it’s not you , it’s me” . Thanks much for taking time out to let me know! (A ‘no’ is better than nothing).

Appreciate You@threadi ! I hope I can be helpful like you someday ??
