    I’m not clear and whether you are asking to have anchor tags (links) in the subject or not but..

    In version 8.6 the code was updated to strip HTML tags out of the subject to allow for other plugins and WordPress 3.5 that allow or insert HTML into the post title now.

    So, if you are asking for the HTML to be removed then using version 8.6 or 8.7 should work fine for you. If you want them in the subject you’d need to use 8.5 and not upgrade. (Although I’m not sure why you’d want that as it doesn’t look great in email clients)

    The problem is that the client doesn’t want HTML tags in the email subject.

    The email subject was somthing like:

    This is a Test

    Is it now fixed?

    Yes, that was fixed in version 8.6 and the fix remains in place in 8.7.
