A single posy into more categories?

  • My next question is, does it hurt SEO to put a single post into more categories? Or each each post must go into a single category?

  • I think (and I’ll emphasize that this is just a personal opinion) that if the URL is the same for the post, regardless of what category you used to get to it, then there is no SEO impact. However, if there are multiple distinct URLs that all render the same content, then there may be some minimal SEO impact. How much impact? You’ll have to have your tea leaves read to figure that out.

    This means that if you avoid using %category% in your permalinks (see Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks) then you should be good.
