A question about data privacy

    Hi,

    We would like to use this plugin on a website that adheres to the concept of privacy by design.

    I noticed that the plugin enqueues Google scripts before Google Translation services are actually used. It would mean that Google gets data of any visitor of a website where the plugin is active irrespective of whether the visitor is using the translation service or not. Is that correct?

    Could it be enhanced to enqueue Google’s library only when a visitor actually uses the translation service, e.g. when by clicking on a country flag or selecting a language from the dropdown list? As a side effect of better data protection, the performance of websites that use this plugin would slightly increase.

    Hi,

    I do not know exactly what data Google collects when you have the Google Translate script added on your website, but if you do not want that before you use any language, then you will need our paid version, which does not add the Google library into your website.
