• The plugin is very good, but I’ve had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to do what we need for our client. One issue that is extremely strange is that when you set opening and closing times for stores, (ours is set at 8:30 – 5:00), customers can select 8:00am, 8:15am, 5:15pm, 5:30pm and 5:45pm from the time dropdown, which doesn’t make sense at all when they open at 8:30 and close at 5:00. I contacted their support team and was told this is just the default way that it works. I find that very odd. What is the point in having an option for opening and closing times when the plugin ignores them?

Another frustrating thing is being unable to customize the Customer Email separate from the Store owner’s email. So when you add important information that’s just for the customer (e.g, bring your ID, Payment Card etc), the store owner also receives this exact same email, when they don’t need all that extra info that’s just for the customers reference.

All in all, the plugin is good, but some things just don’t make sense the way they’re done.

    Hello,

We wish we had noticed this review before, but we probably missed the email notification.
As of now, version 1.3.1, it is true that the drop down menu to select the drop off time still allows you to exceed the store closing time, but right before hitting the book-now button the system changes via JavaScript the drop off time to the storing closing time, like 05:00PM in your case.

We probably explained already why this is the default way it works, and it’s something related to JavaScript efficiency. You were probably also told that this behavior may be subjected to changes and improvements with the next official updates, because by adding a simple alert message to inform the customers that the stores closes, for example, at 5PM would make the whole thing better.

Regarding the email notification for the administrator: it is true that the email template is the same for customers and administrators, but thanks to the Conditional Text Rules you will be able to define some email contents only if the recipient is the customer or the admin. Here again this was a choice made by our programmers because having a duplicate email template just for the administrator would not make much sense, especially because all the rental order details are always available in the wp-admin section, and because one single adjustment would need to be applied twice, once on each email template. For this reason, the email template is just one for both customers and administrators, but we are going to improve the Conditional Text rules so that filtering certain contents by recipient type will be possible.

Of course there is always space for improvements, and our company is committed to listening to our clients feedback. We just find your review score for our plugin a bit harsh, but we hope you will decide to update it as soon as the next major release will be available.

    Thank you,
    The VikWP Team
