A poll that works in the latest WordPress

I’ve just upgraded to WP1.5.1.2 and I use the gamerz poll – no problems. You do need to replace the lines of code in the core WP files again (because they get wiped in the upgrade)… but once thats done it works fine.

Check out https://www.avalon5.com and you will see what I mean. I run the voting thingy in the sidebar. No issues since 1.5.1.2 upgrade that I’m aware of anyway.

I’m keen to continue using Gamerz poll if it can be sorted. What code do I need to replace again and what with?

If you download the latest version of the Gamerz plugin, you will find a README.TXT file in there which clearly specifies which WP files require modification. Do your WP upgrade first, then install the plugin again and simply reapply the lines of code to wp-settings.php and wp-menu.php as instructuted. It’s all in the readme file.

I, bleakgeek.com, no longer use this plugin. I use a plugin called Democracy by Jalenack. I highly recommend it, it is a very good plugin. Very simply to use.

Hi all.
Maybe this is the wrong thread, but sorry then.
I have an issue with the poll plugin. it works fine, but it seems that I have to vote twice before the poll records the vote. I don’t know what’s causing it, and don’t know how to fix it…

Joolz – have you checked the plugin authors site ?

Hmm, no, I just found out that the error I reported is slightly different. It does register the vote, it just takes you back to the vote screen, whilst it should redirect to the results. (This is just the sidebar, not the main page…)

It’s the gamerz poll plugin btw. His site, lesterchan.net is not online :'(
