A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check()

  • A plugin has prevented updates by disabling wp_version_check() in health check.

    Already tried disabling all plugins, checked .htaccess, all good there defualt, checked wpconfig nothing in there. I am at a loss.

  • Hey, I asked Marius, who wrote that code, “How do you tell if the version check is disabled?” and he said

    Do a loopback and see if the filter exists or not
    It’s susceptible to the loopback failures marking it as failed, so generally you’d want to check if loopbacks are failing, and if they are, resolve that first to see if related issues resolve themselves

    So you should look into what Site Health has to say about Loopback failure, and see if your server configuration is preventing that.

    What is weird is updates appear to be working I will do some research on the loopback but I am sure it is working I have many WordPress sites on this server and they all seem to not have this error just this one.
