A no nonsense easy to use Newsletter plugin
-
I have been testing a lot of newsletter plugins over the last few days that are readily available in the plugins directory, including those that have been downloaded 100,000’s or more times and one thing became very clear, just because it has been downloaded by so many does not make the plugin good, not by a loooong shot.
Sola Newsletters is simple, intuitive and best of all IT WORKS. Unlike many of the more popular newsletter plugins Sola Newsletters is easier to set-up with far less required settings. It records basic stats so you can get details on how the newsletter is being used.received and opened, plus an option to link it to Analytics.
The newsletter creator cannot be any simpler, drag and drop, add text and images and off you go sending your newsletter to your subscribers. Perfect for those users that prefer the WYSIWYG style editors.
Subscribers can easily subscribe and unsubscribe, they can be on one or more lists which gives the user more control on what they get when they subscribe. A subscription widget exists which is easy to add as are any other WP widgets, it cannot get any easier.
Managing your subscribers and lists is just as easy, plus an error log exists just in case something does go wrong, not that I have noticed so far :)/
This is so good that I went and purchased the Pro version, for $29.99 for 3 licences for three sites (or $14.99 for just one site), how cheap is that :), especially when you compare how much the Pro or Premium versions are for the more popular newsletter plugins.
So anyway thanks to the developers, I have even sent in a few requests for future updates to make it even better but for the main part this is a really great plugin, you will not be disappointed so give it a try.
While I have given it 5 stars, it is probably more like a 4.5, but not a 4 (hey WP people add an ability to add .5 stars). That .5 mark down is simply due to the limited documentation, however for the most part it is self explanatory, but more detailed documentation would help those less technically minded :).
I do not write many reviews but this one deserved it, again well done to the developers and I look forward to future updates.
