• Hi all lovely people! I know WP from the first relase but from only a week i’ve start giving a look to the code, using and modifing it for my work. I have try to search a good image gallery plugin for that blog system to install, but i have not found one very useful and well done. Finally I have try to do one (i’ve named it w3images) that satisfy all necessary features, easy to use and all automatic, with possibility to create how many categories and subcategories i like, with admin CP that allow to upload automatically and how many images i like, thumbnail created also automatically, with possibility to choose what dimension should have, how many thumb per row, how much per page, and if clicked, the slide show page will be open, so you can navigate all images in very easly and good way.

    All is well done (i think!), almost ready (i will give to download on very short time, but i’m unsure if it will contain in that relase the possibility to insert comments for images (more exactly the feature to choose on fly while insert image, if that will be published with comments enabled or not). Of course, all features in any moment can be easly changed from CP. If the time allow to adapt it, will be coded for 1.0.0 relase).
    Others importants features will be detailed explained on relase of w3images 1.0.0.

    So, my post here was to inform who interested on it, of course, an image gallery of that kind for WP, but also because, i know WP from very short time, i’ve like the way it is coded (oh yes, class and functions are very useful!) i’ve do this plugin but i have a question.

    That the question:
    I’ve choose the way to code this plugin keeping in my mind, ‘the final user should do nothing to make it work’; so, to install it, you must copy the w3images plugin folder, on WP plugin’s folder, place 2 files (wp-w3images.php and wp-w3pup.php) on WP root install directory, go in admin, and obviusly, activate it. Nothing more. User can begin to create the categories and subcategories, modify the one installed by deafult, or start to upload images and opions.

    Is correct to code this 2 additionals files or i should choose to put the w3images plugin output, on a different way, like inside a category, post or page?

    I would like to be advise of it, or maybe is better leave two differents way to implement the w3images, on a post or/and with this two files?
    Thanks all, axew3

    -> axew3

    axew3 – the plugin is awesome and exactly what i am looking for. however, i’m not very knowledgeable about PHP and can’t see where the gallery is getting the CSS.

    Here is the page https://www.chispastories.com/chispa_pics.php.

    As you can see, the background of the gallery is inheriting the CSS content for the top of the main page but i can’t see why. Do you have any ideas?

    Again, great plugin, thanks for the work!

    It’s too late to answer, seems you have already solve, anyway, the help on this and other problems can be founded at w3it.org forums.
    The new release of the w3images gallery plugin (1.0.1) is ready to be released anyway. It add several features, including thumbs on your blog pages from gallery, upload images also for users (easy permission setting added for w3images plugin admin interface). Stay tuned!
