A little bit lost. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!

    I’ve just downloaded the latest version of WordPress and am about to install it but would really like to clarify something 1st:

    Q. Do I need to have a domain name registered to use the WordPress platform?

    I understand that the final product will need its own domain name, but while I’m editing my designs and playing around with WordPress can I just have it hosted somewhere without an actual registered domain name linked to it.
