A Leap Ahead of Yoast

I used Yoast for years — seemed to be the default for WP. Yet it seemed so …well… lacking.

Then I tripped upon Squirrly: weird name, great product. SEO can be pretty daunting, especially for a beginner, so it walks you through what to do and why, giving you just three things to work on per session. If something doesn’t seem to make sense or apply, you can get details, or skip it and move on. And, of course, if you want to, it’ll give you the next three tasks.

They “guaranteed” that I’d get a top-10 ranking for one of my sites by following their suggestions. Sure enough, that site is now #1 on Google for the most-important keyword (search term) in that sector. I’ve since been moving from Yoast to Squirrly for ALL of my sites. It really is that good.
