A heavy use game blog, need tips!

  • Hey everyone, I’m not much of a designer, but I have put together a blog that I feel is respectable. I get roughly 3500 users a day and over 10k page loads, so server load and optimization have been key for me. I am looking for any other suggestions to optimize the site, or even constructive criticism. The design is a medium modified free template from another site, I have added many tweaks and changes, some big and some small. Ive compressed most of the javascript, images and css. I use WP super cache and 20 other plugins, most of which are low memory or essential to what I do.

    Let me know what you think. If you don’t know what FarmVille is, well Google it and you should get plenty of info. =P

  • I’m not a farmville fan but I love your site! The look and feel is perfect for your topic. Usability and navigation is well thought out and intuitive as well.

    Moreover, the blend of text and image ads appear distributed perfectly. One thing I would try is to get text ads within each post to increase revenue.

    Other than that, the progress you’ve made in such a short time is amazing. Those are some incredible stats. Keep up the great work!

    Thank you for the great comment. I have taken your tip and modified it a bit. I’m not a big fan of having the add IN the post, but I added it on single.php right above the comment RSS as well. I also realized you use a text word ad on your blog (which is very nice by the way), I read some reviews and went with https://www.infolinks.com/ as it looks like they may pay a little better.

    I appreciate the advice, feel free to let me know if you think of anything else.
