• Hello,
i blog at rishiraj.info and y’day while generating a custom checkover all folders, i got that porn files are being uploaded to my wp-content/cache folder. I tried deleting it but it is not being deleted. many of my plugins and themes got deleted also.
i tried deleting the cache from wp-cache’s EMPTY CACHE option but cannot. those porn files still there and in a large quantity, some 1900+ folders with 3000+ files.

what to do? I somehow tried to block bots accessing that folder but still google indexed some 10 pages of it. wat to do? how can i empty the folder?

any tip? plz plz. i m being killed by this problem!

  • Sounds like something happened on the backside and you may be possibly serving porn out via leeching methods to other sites.

I would call your host and have them secure your directory and remove the files (CHMOD and & CHOWN) then think very carefully about whether to reinstall from scratch, which is what I would do. Reinstalling from scratch would be having the host delete your www folder and recreating it (leaving your MySQL DB intact) so that there are no extra scripts or modified files within your install. It also resets any folder and file permissions when you reinstall WP.

Yes, contact your hosting service for help immediately. You not need the bandwidth charges on your bill.

Thanks dudes! At last I got it fixed. The host deleted that folder from the server only! ??

If I were you now that the offending folder has been deleted I would upgrade to the latest version of wordpress, overwriting all your existing WP files as specified in the install instructions. THen change your passwords.

Otherwise you could fall victim to the same thing again.

Also, the object cache is not actually necessary. You can remove or comment out the ENABLE_CACHE line in your wp-config.php to prevent WordPress from using that cache.
