    Hi everyone,

    There’s a few things that i’d like to change on my blog at https://www.learnbassguitartoday.com/blog – I’m using the ‘your existence’ themre if that helps.

    Firstly, how do I edit the meta tags, and H1, H2, H3 headings, along with the keywords that will show up in the html for the search engines to use?

    Secondly, i’d like my posts to look more like the posts at this blog, https://www.deanholland.com – the posts on his home page aren’t shown in their entirety, they’re just the first paragraph or so, not the whole post like they are on my blog, https://www.learnbassguitartoday.com/blog . I’d like to change this if possible as i’m going to be adding a number of long posts which I don’t want to clog up the whole page!!!

    Does anyone know how to help with either of these issues?

    Many thanks
    Jamie

    I think I can answer your second question. Would you like only excerpts of your posts to show? If so, when you’re in your Dashboard go to Settings, then Reading. Where it says “For each article in a feed show” Change it from Full Text to Summary. I think that might do it.

    1a: open your stylesheet (style.css) and edit it
    1b not so simple, but there are highlite plugins to do that

    2 1- use the more tag when writing;
    2- use the_excerpt instead of the_content in the index.php;
    3- use an excerpt plugin (I use Excerpt Editor).

    Hey guys,

    That’s cool thank you. The ‘more’ tab seems to be my best bet, I hadn’t spotted that.

    As for the tags…which part of the style sheet do I need to edit. There seems to be various Meta and H tags references?

    Also, i’ve just spotted that my text all seems to bold for some reason now, any thoughts on how to fix this?

    Thanks
    Jamie
