Nothing broken, just wishing there was a way that you could make the plugins be sortable on a *per page* basis.

Specifically, what would be helpful would be a way to click to sort the Active (just for that page) by alpha or load order.

You already have the separation of only site active plugins at the top, and site deactivated plugins below that (and shaded), but *within* those system active plugins, it would be nice to be able to sort by alpha.

This would be helpful as we look to make sure certain plugins are active when we have done an override of the global setting for that page. I can’t tell you how much time I spend looking through the page to find that one plugin that needs to be active and isn’t, usually skipping over it several times before I finally see it. ??

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Because of the way wordpress works, that is not possible. There is one array that loads the plugins. They are loaded in the order that they are saved to that array. Ordering the plugins is not for cosmetic benefit. It can make your site stop working. You should only use it if you are experiencing a problem. There is no speed benefit to changing the order. Some plugins conflict with each other so reordering them can fix that conflict. That is the only purpose to reordering the plugins.

Got it. Thanks for the explanation. I did have to globally reorder to resolve a specific plugin conflict issue. It was nice to have that ability. At one point, I was under the assumption that sort helped with site speed, but now understand it does not.

Regardless, thanks for one of the most important plugins I use.
