• Greetings All,
    i installed wordpress and have a couple of new designs but I dont want the default wordpress design to load. I want one of mine as the default.
    How do I set a default design other than the wordpress default?

  • have it call a different css instead of wp-layout.css in the index.php file.

    Ok I looked at the index.php file and cant figure it out. It doesnt resemble any html I know. Now I have a mod installed called ‘style selector’ and a couple other styles installed and I want it to call of those when it loads. Since WordPRESS has its own style folder, how do I load another style in another folder? Im confused so please bare w/ me.

    Which version of WP?

    Forgot to put this:
    My Site: https://lostcitytinnos.net/
    I was to make the theme ‘DarkFire’ default.

    And its the one from AlexKing.Com – the one with all the mods installed.

    Then read Alex’s “readme” ??
    It says pretty clearly “Note: you can pass in the name of the style you want to use as the default like this:…etc.” you just have to read it before posting!

    It didn’t come in the .ZIP package I downloaded from his site. What README? I have the WordPress README that Ive read twice trying to find the answer and cant find it. What README?

    Oh, Alex’s StyleSwitcher comes with a readme ??
    I don’t know about the “package” because I’ve never used it, but I thought it is in there. Ok, anyway, this is what it says:
    Note: you can pass in the name of the style you want to use as the default like this:
    @import url( <?php wp_stylesheet("my-new-style"); ?> );

    This doesn’t really work for me though… I guess I’m too noob for this ?? I wish to change my style very desperately (still got the default)
    it seems that the styleswitcher doesn’t work on my server (I guess) because I only see an ‘acitvate’ link and nothing more (just activate and no ‘styleswitch’ or whatsoever)

    Try Kubrick, it’s a good starting place and easy to set up: https://binarybonsai.com/kubrick/
