• Hi folks,

I’ve come onto a bit of a conundrum.

I’m looking to create a site that is basically a large database where users can create the content via several preset fields amd drop down menus via an “Add player” button, one of the feilds also needs to accept and display html. Aswell as an upvote function on the record for a “hall of fame” style page.

I would like to have it so that once a user searches a players name it brings up a single “record” about that player with that specific name.

Any pluggins and/or advice on how to go about doing this would be much appreciated.

  • Hi a1701d, How do you do?

You asked that the users can create the content via preset fields, right? I would assume that this page is private to them, or that they have to be logged-in to be able to contribute to the player’s profile.

or is it public, so that even guest can contribute and that you will just have to moderate/review every submissions for approval.

I’m not quite familiar with any existing plug-ins for this but a custom plugin will do.

This will also require an admin backend for you that can likewise be integrated from within the wp dashboard or otherwise on a wordpress page with a custom php script built.

Thank you for the replies, folks.

wpjopress, It would be open to public to create pages via forms – but no log in required, admin only edit and delete.

WPyogi – this pluggin looks as if it may help, thank you for the suggestion. I’ll give it a go and see if I can make it do what’s needed.

    Thank you very much guys.

I’m going to leave the thread open for now to see if I can get any more suggestions or help. I will post a diagram of what i’m looking to do shortly as i’m aware my descriptions are god awful.

Thanks again for the replies, guys – it’s appreciated.

You are very welcome a1701d! Glad we could help. The plugin recommended by WPyogi is quite flexible and is indeed a good starting point.

It would also be great if you could share us that diagram so we could have a clearer picture of what you are aiming for. Thank you!
