A Customer Service/Tech Support nightmare…
-
After more than two weeks of trying to get Elementor working properly, having to deal with texting (chatting) with representatives, emailing back and forth and even sharing a Zoom-type meeting with a “customer experience” representative in Israel, I finally got Elementor Pro uploaded into my hosted WP and thought, “hooray(!), I am actually going to begin developing our corporate site”…something that is now two weeks delayed. Then, I found, selected and added one of the template kits that is supposed to be Elementor-friendly (hey, this is actually a from the Elementor/WP “Kit Library”). Only, the template kit doesn’t work. Literally the first time I prepared to begin editing this kit to build our site, I got an error message, “”Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call ‘the_content’ function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page”” In point of fact, I have not yet done ANYTHING. The idea I must call something or fix something or set something…is nonsensical.
Oh, I did immediately use the Elementor chat aiming for a ready solution, something I might be doing wrong, to which the chat tech support rep might respond, “surely, what you need to do is check this box, or reload the template kit or…” SOMETHING…ANYTHING. Yet, the ultimate response, after seeming to not have read anything I had already texted, “this sounds like a level two issue. I am going to escalate this. What you need to do is create a ticket.” WHAT? No, what I need to do is cut the cord, get our money back and go back to the tried and true competition.
In my conversation with the manager in Israel, I volunteered that “my company would gladly pay $400.00 per year to have phone support.” Really. Even though phone support is a freebie with virtually all kinds of service businesses. As common as dirt. The manager assented, “yes, we do frequently receive this commentary, and we have looked at this.” Gee…if your customer base is asking for such a service, and willing to pay for it, what in the world must you be thinking?
Alternatively, when I used WP Bakery some years ago, I found it remarkably simple to learn and use, and NEVER had any tech issues. I was told that Elementor is better than WP Bakery. Frankly, nothing I have experienced thus far can convince me of this.`
Elementor is supposed to be this powerful, drag-and-drop, WYSIWYG tool. Yet, after more than two weeks…I have NOTHING TO SHOW. Worse still, there is no phone support. NADA. Heck, every other online service on the planet has a phone number I can call. Not Elementor.TIME IS MONEY! My time, our entire organization’s time is valuable. I am in meetings from morning until night, and when not, I am deeply immersed in projects. Projects that bring revenue. Well, our website is supposed to be a revenue generator…yet, with Elementor fails, left and right…the site is a cost center before it has even been built. Absurd.
Don’t waste your time or money. This is a disaster.
