• Hello, there seems to be a bug when creating a custom footer. I don’t know if it’s come from the editor or the theme. However, once the custom footer has been created, it is impossible to add it into a template, it simply does not appear in the list of compositions. Could you try and confirm ?

    Thanks

  • Hi

I am not able to reproduce this, but I am assuming that you created a footer as a template part?
Can you explain in more detail what steps you are taking when you are trying to add the footer to the template? I am not entirely sure what part of the interface you mean with “list of compositions”.

If you are looking for the template part by opening the block inserter in the top left corner and selecting “patterns”, it is not listed there because it only shows patterns.

If you are clicking on an existing footer and you are looking for your new footer in the Design panel in the sidebar, then it is not listed there because it only shows patterns.

If you are inserting a new template part block and selecting “Choose” (Choose an existing part), and the part is still not listed, then there may be a new bug.

    Hello Carolina.

I can confirm that after turning off my test website and turning it back on this morning, I finally see my personalized footers appear as a “template part” when I click on the “+” button at the top left. They are clearly present in purple. Yesterday I reloaded the page several times and they never appeared. However, I don’t understand why we couldn’t find them when we click on “+” (top left) then on “Patterns” > “Footers”: here, we can’t find them. This is weird behavior that can confuse users, right? In any case, thank you for your response.
