I cannot upgrade WP beyond 5.8 at the moment and it is exceedingly ANNOYING for plugins to keep “notifying” there is an upgrade when the upgrade is NOT compatible with your core WP version – so the suggestion is the following:

Remove update notifications from the plugins that are not current releases if the new release is NOT compatible with the version of WordPress installed. Maybe change the text color of the version info in the plugins page but pull all the “Notices” out of the dashboard and menus… so frustrating!!!

Also, I CANNOT USE WP for ecommerce purposes because it is CONSTANTLY being broken by updates – which is why I had to FREEZE the version – otherwise I might as well go back to static pages for my information websites because WP is simply NOT useable if a stable version (and plugins) cannot be frozen!

    Devin, Thank You!

I can’t speak for others, but if there is a way to push that into the latest version that is still compatible back to 5.8 that would be even better for me. I’m currently beta testing 6.0, but have had a couple issues that I hope to have worked out in a week or so that will allow me to upgrade to that core distribution… Since I have multiple WP sites, will have to test those changes across all of them before I can declare success – just in case!
