• Hello!
I have a client who would like to move some of her WP posts to Tumblr (nightmare!), and also post some new ones on Tumblr. She wants to embed, but I think this plugin might be a better way for her to go.

My question is about moving old posts over. How would I do that without having to re-post them all? Just by choosing post format?

Second, I know nothing about Tumblr, so I’m wondering if she is going to get nailed for duplicate content. If she chooses no index on WP, will it index on Tumblr?

Thanks so much, I really hope this plugin works out!

The “Tumblrize Archives” feature (available in the Tools menu of your WordPress admin panel) will respect your per-post settings. Using it will initiate a copy of all your posts to your connected Tumblr blog except those posts which you have already selected the “No” option for “Send post to Tumblr?” in that post’s editing screen.

So, the easiest thing for you to do is probably to first find and disable crossposting for each WordPress post that you do not want to transfer to Tumblr, and then use the Tumblrize Archives tool to easily move the rest of your posts to Tumblr.

It’s also worth noting, however, that this plugin cannot reliably sync content BACK from Tumblr to WordPress. If you are going to mirror your content on Tumblr, it is recommended that you only use WordPress to create/edit content and then push that content to Tumblr (automatically, using this plugin). Editing your content directly on Tumblr is not recommended.

I encourage multiple copies of each of my blogs to be indexed in all major search engines and this is not any kind of problem for me, nor has it ever been.
