A Company Has Copied My Entire Site and Content

They can copy your site with zero of your code. It only takes a halfway decent programmer to copy your site.

I’m not sure about the legal steps to take….

BTW, did you discover this, just by typing “.org” on accident or……

Thanks Noah. Discovered it because my analytics started showing a few incoming links from this new rogue site. Clicked over and was shocked to see it.

That .org site is timing out, maybe something’s been done about it already?

I was going to suggest checking whether they kept links to any of your CSS or image files? Presumably if you saw Analytics incoming links, they did.

Because if they do, there might be a way to disrupt their site at least temporarily.

Thanks Jason, it is still timing out so maybe the host (whom I emailed their abuse email, after some time tracking it all down and with help from people on the internet like you!) took it down. They kept all the links, including image files, etc. Hopefully it’s down for good, but we’re going to keep tracking it.

If they are hotlinking your images, then you can use .htaccess to serve a different file for them. For example, you can give them an image that stay the site is scan/non-legit/illega or something along that line.
