a category dissapeared randomly, what could have happened?

  • a category of my blog dissapeared. i know its still there because i have a function in my blog that calls the posts of this category and it still loads them. but the category doesnt appear in the sidebar, or in the categories section of wp-admin. i don’t know what i did, i just was writing a new post today and the category wasn’t there.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    i couldn’t recover the category. i created a new one and moved all the posts to there.
