We’ve noticed the field “_wc_facebook_enhanced_catalog_attributes_size” has a size size of over 50MB.

Is that a database table? I can’t seem to find it on my test site.

Can you please share more details about this along with some screenshots?

I was given the field name by a developer who has trouble syncing products with their plugin.

I did search the database for the field but couldn’t find it.

I don’t have any screenshots as i’m not sure how that field was found.

As I understand, the following 2 related tables can be found in your site’s database:

• 475_postmeta: Data: 854.78MB + Index: 227.42MB + Engine InnoDB
• wp_postmeta: Data: 0.02MB + Index: 0.03MB + Engine InnoDB

With the first being quite large.

Nevertheless, the size of the meta table(s) indicates use of plugins that add meta boxes, too many images (WordPress stores the attachment meta data, compression details and alt tag details in post meta table), custom fields.

My suggestion would be to try a plugin like “WP Optimze” or “WP Sweep” which can look at the table and remove unnecessary records.

I’m glad that this is clarified. Just to note, that table’s size is about 1GB so, yes, it appears it could use some optimization, indeed.

Right, so going back to my orignal question:

Are you by any chance adding backslashes or quotes to the size attributes field? if you are, removing them should resolve the issue.

We fixed a related issue previously. I’ve reopened the issue to have our developers double-check that this isn’t a reoccurrence.

As @sukafia said, we did patch this issue previously. Essentially, what was happening was if the category attribute value contained a special char (“,) such as quotes or backslashes, the value would be escaped causing the backslashes to duplicate indefinitely.

I can confirm the issue doesn’t happen anymore, which prompts me to believe that your case is a remnant of this bug (before the v2.6.29 release).

Can you provide an excerpt of the affected SQL row? If we deleted the backlashes from SQL this should resolve the problem the issue.

Thank you all for your Input. I’ve spent the day deleting all the extra backslashes I can find. Everything seems to be working much better now, product pages load lighting fast and all my products sync correctly to third parties.

I had the same issue. To fix it, I exported all the products as a csv file and deleted all the “\” in meta attributes and Imported back in. Seem to have done the job. No idea why the attributes would populate with “\”.
