    Hi,
we have installed W3 on 2 sites and we are facing a strange problem with both of them.
    Follow me:
we purge cache, then we visit a page to put it in cache.
In the folder “wp-content/cache/page_enhanced/*site url*/*page visited*” we can find “_index_ssl.html” and “_index_ssl.html_gzip”, and this page load very fast.
After one hour (more or less) in the same folder we can just find “_index_ssl.html_old” and “_index_ssl.html_gzip_old” and this page load, obviously, very slowly.
So it seems cache lasts 60-90 minutes, not more.
    How can we solve this?

    Hello @mezcal26

    Thank you for your inquiry.
When a page is cached, the file is saved without _old. The _old is added when you update the page or click flush cache. This is actually done to prevent loading the cached page, force updating the page cache. Garbage collection is used to remove all the _old files from the cache directory. If that doesn’t work, there’s some server restriction preventing the plugin from doing that.
So the _old files are created when the cache is purged.
it’s fine to have _old files. if you always have only _old files – that’s a sign something purges cache all the time. like theme or some plugin.
    Thanks!

    Hello Marko,
    I have tried everything.
I deactivated all the plugins, I activated 2 different themes, including twenty-twentyone, I copied the site to another hosting platform, but in any case the html files remain for one or two hours, then become _old. 5-6 hours later the entire page folder is deleted.
So how can we solve the issue?
    Thanks

    Hello @mezcal26

So this means that it’s not theme related issue and most likely some plugin or something else is causing this. If you check this topic you will see that there are different things that may be causing this.
    Thanks!
