• Hi.

Since 12th of April, we have seen a huge drop in transactions being recorded in GA, however all other metrics are being reported. This was around the time that the GTM4WP plugin was automatically updated on site. Previously all transactions were being recorded as expected.

I have followed through the guide here:
    https://gtm4wp.com/how-to-articles/how-to-setup-enhanced-ecommerce-tracking

and ensured that gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC has been added to the regex, this was done last week. since then, 1 transaction has been recorded in GA however have received 115.

I have performed test transactions today via desktop, both whilst being logged in and as guest, using both paypal and stripe as payment methods – both of these orders can be seen in GA.

However, a customer who ordered within 5 minutes of my test orders has not tracked. I have since placed 2 further test transactions via mobile, using apple pay and paypal – neither of these orders have tracked.

This leads me to believe that mobile device purchases may not be tracked, as when I look at the recent events (last 30 mins) for mobile devices, I can see the event actions gtm4wp.productImpressionEEC and gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC but NO gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC

During my desktop transactions, I ran the GTM debugger and could see the datalayer being completed with all transaction details, as mentioned, these transactions did come through to GA so didnt identify any issues here.

I have retraced through the steps in the guide once more and and confirmed that all settings are as they should be.

Please let me know what information you need to assist.

  • We are also seing a big drop last weeks. 50%-60% of the transactions are no longer tracked to analytics.

    Hi @volcomjon,

I redid the test but I can not see the order completed event in your trigger:

tinyurl not responding so im unable to see the screenshot.

I have just checked the trigger in GTM (latest published version):

    gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC|gtm4wp.productClickEEC|gtm4wp.removeFromCartEEC|gtm4wp.checkoutOptionEEC|gtm4wp.changeDetailViewEEC|gtm4wp.checkoutStepEEC

I can try to make an edit resave and publish another version.

This has now been done – I added |test to the end of the regex and pushed a new version

please advise what is missing, if anything.

I can now see the screenshot, so the question would be why is this not triggering considering that all events and tags are configured correctly.

What access do you need to resolve this?

    Hi @volcomjon,

Been following this thread. The screenshot shared by @duracelltomi (Screenshot) doesn’t contain gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC

Adding |test to the end of the trigger won’t work.

    Your trigger should be as below;

    gtm4wp.addProductToCartEEC|gtm4wp.productClickEEC|gtm4wp.removeFromCartEEC|gtm4wp.checkoutOptionEEC|gtm4wp.changeDetailViewEEC|gtm4wp.checkoutStepEEC|gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC

Please adjust your trigger as above & publish your container (after testing). Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Praba.

Thanks @prabapro – I have now updated the trigger and placed a test order.
I can see the real-time event has fired in GA

    Screenshot

im awaiting to see if this appears in conversions in GA (nothing yet).

I’ve also just placed a test transaction using GTM debug, and can see gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC being fired.

however, I had this previously, as can only debug on desktop. I will await to see if 2 transactions appear for my two tests.

please feel free to test this using the debug GTM link provided earlier in the thread.

    Hi @volcomjon

Thanks for allowing me to perform a test purchase. I can see the purchase event is firing now. Also, the GA payload has the purchase action & product data.

You should be able to see this in GA once processed.

Thanks for testing – I can see the transactions in GA, including a “real” order, however, before marking this as complete, I will check over the next few days to ensure that all transactions are being captured.

    thanks

@volcomjon no worries, please make sure the container is published so that the transactions from your customers would also get registered in GA. Have a great day. Cheers ??

    Hi @prabapro,

Thanks for jumping in to help.

@volcomjon – I hope this will solve your issue. Let us know what you can see in the stats. Please remember: there will be always some missing transactions, question is the ratio.

    Hi @duracelltomi ,

You’re most welcome. You have given us a wonderful plugin for free, we’re so grateful for that ?? I know how busy you are, so trying to jump in to help whenever possible. Thanks once again, cheers ??
