90117 Error – maximum number of characters allowed: 2000

    Dear support,

    I get this below error message which is self explaining. My text is too long (since i have a lot of equivalent partnumbers / keywords).

    90117 Error The product_description field contains an invalid value: /.../ The value exceeds the maximum number of characters allowed: 2000.

    But instead of throwing the error and not publish the listing, would it also not be possible to auto-crop the text and still publish the listing? Or would this be a new feature request. ??

    Thanks for reaching out today.

    While we always want to implement requests from our users, we cannot implement all of them, rather only requests that many/most users ask for.

    You are welcome to try including this in our feature request list, but we would only implement something like this if many users voted for it.

    Furthermore, if we have WP-Lister crop/cut off the description at the 2000 word limit, then the description would simply end mid-sentence and it would look bad to potential buyers.

    I instead would recommend you provide a custom description for Amazon separate from your WC description by entering a description into the “Amazon description” field in each edit product page.
