    Hello,

Is there a way to completely remove the option to ship?

I want to create a store which doesn’t ship at all and only offers local pickup. I have set up the local pickup and I can activate it. But there is also the option to ship which then shows the error “there is no shipping method available”. Even when removing all shipping zones, there still is the option to select shipping on the checkout page.

When tying to create a shipping method for a shipping zone, it only offers “Free Shippiung” or “Flat Rate”. As third option it says: “Local pickup: Set up pickup locations in the Local pickup settings page.”

    woocommerce version: 9.2.1

I think this feature was first released on Version 9.2. All other documentation I saw on the internet refers to just adding the local pickup as a shipping method in the shipping zone.

Update shipping method modal copy if block-based local pickup is active by opr · Pull Request #48529 · woocommerce/woocommerce (github.com)

PS: The need for a shipping address should also be removable for this scenario, as I just need the billing address, but that’s the smaller issue.

    Thanks ??

  • Hey there, @mastr0815! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

This is a feature of the checkout block, it was added a while ago.

It makes total sense to remove the shipping option if only local pick up is available. The good news is this feature request is already part of our backlog.

You can follow the GitHub report here if you wish.

We can’t specify a date when this will be added, but the team will work on it as soon as possible ??

The need for a shipping address should also be removable for this scenario, as I just need the billing address, but that’s the smaller issue.

The checkout usually has an checkbox to use the same address for both billing and shipping?
Is it not available on your checkout page?
If it is not, please let us know so we can assist you further.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help or if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for your answer, that’s exactly what I was trying to achieve. I will have a look and follow the github report.
I have no issues with the shippiung address, as I have the option to force it to be the same as the billing address, it’s just not neccessary at the frontend and could be misleading for some customers. But as I said, thats the smaller issue.
