• A plugin is asking me for my API key, and the only link I found was about the wordpress blog hosting, not for the blogs hosted elsewhere.

How do I find out my API key?

  • In order to get the api key, you HAVE to sign up for at least a “username” at wordpress.com. Follow the link from the notification.

if u mean akimset you will get it when you register at wordpress.com

Alright, I got a username there. Now what? I can’t find the API key anywhere…

It’ll be in the email they send you. Among other places.

I don’t think ‘username’ account have access to any sort of backend. (or change password)

If you don’t get the email that contains it, best bet would be to email support at wordpress dot com and explain the situation. Don’t forget to include your username and send if from teh email address that you created teh account with.

I find the fact that there is www.remarpro.com and wordpress.com very confusing, especially given that you can have accounts on both sites. I had a support account on .org but it was of no use on the .com site login. Someone should clarify on home page what’s what and why the two sites with near look-alike look-n-feel.

    Just my .02

    How is this not clear?

To get started with WordPress, set it up on a web host for the most flexibility or get a free blog on WordPress.com.
