I had my page up and running with all the archives intact. Then I tried to change some simple things on the theme template and somehow lost the archives.

The archives were transfered over from Blogger. I reloaded page.php in the theme folder but that did not work.

I’ve searched but cannot understand how WP accesses the archive files. I’m finding WP rather inaccessible to changes and to my understanding of how it works.

Sorry to be a bother. Becky https://www.moonfrog.com

  • Looks like you turned on Pretty Permalinks somewhere along the line? That’s what would appear to be causing your errors.

Do the errors go away if you visit Options -> Permalinks and set ’em to Default?

Thank you, thank you! I will try to only change one thing at a time from now on. ??

If you eventually want to tackle pretty Permalinks see that page for some troubleshooting ideas.

In particular, confirm with your host that they have mod_rewrite and AllowOverride on and enabled.
