• All of a sudden, I am getting the following error when trying to upload an image to a post

“The uploaded file could not be moved to”

I have checked my permission of

/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/ and they are all set to 777.

I read in another post, that I should check where images are getting uploaded to, under MISC…Options, however there are only 2 options there:

    Miscellaneous Options
    Track Links’ Update Times

    Use legacy my-hacks.php file support

    Can anyone help?

  • Post a link? Version of WP? Linux or Windows server?

    Hi,

    It linux, wordpress 2.0, a URL: https://www.mybingoblog.com

If WP created the directory structure (and not you with cpanel or ftp) then permissions are likely not an issue.

I am concerned about your lack of a “Uploading” area and
“Store uploads in this folder:” entry area in Options:Misc.

Are you logged in as admin?

    Hi,

WP did create the folders, so you are right about permissions.

I did install a mod for uploading, if used alone, images do upload, but I think the issue is that under Options —> Miscellaneous , there is only two settings there.

Should I maybe upgrade the blog to a newer version OR could the file that gives options in the Miscellaneous menu be corrupt ?

I really can’t afford to loose the date, I am going to make a backup…

    Please advise.

I can create you an admin user, but I would need to do it securely.

I did install a mod for uploading

    What mod is that? ImageManager?

I was asking if you’re logged in as admin only to rule out user/role issues.

    Hi,

All of a sudden files are getting uploaded, very weird. Could of been a hitch at the hosting company?

What should I do wrto the lack of options in options-misc menu?

I read in another post, someone could not see it due to a browser pop up issue, which I doubt is the case. I should probably upgrade?

Yes, upgrade. If nothing else then for security reasons…
